Why Go

This site has not yet covered La Verkin, including lodging or dining there. Its main tie to a Zion trip is through the trail that shares its name. If you are picking a base, Springdale and Hurricane are better documented here.

What It Means for a Zion Trip

The La Verkin Creek to Kolob Arch hike is a 14-mile round trip that starts at Lee Pass in the Kolob Canyons district, descends into the La Verkin Creek drainage, and ends at a viewpoint of Kolob Arch, one of the world's largest natural arches. It is a full-day, strenuous commitment, so treat it seriously from the planning stage. The trail is in the park; the town is not on it. The picture on this page shows Zion's east side, not La Verkin.

Where to Stay and Eat

Getting There from Springdale
