Springdale, Utah

Zion's gateway town runs right up to the park's pedestrian entrance - close enough to walk in. Lodges, restaurants, coffee, galleries, and outfitters, all tucked beneath the red cliffs. It's where most Zion trips begin and end.

The Town at Zion's Front Door

Springdale hugs State Route 9 for a couple of miles right up to Zion's south entrance. That location is its whole appeal: you can stay in town, walk or ride a free shuttle to the pedestrian gate, and skip the park's notoriously tight parking altogether. Between adventures it's a genuinely pleasant place to be - art galleries, patios, good coffee, and cliff views from nearly everywhere.

Getting Around

From roughly spring through fall, the free Springdale town shuttle runs the length of SR-9, with stops near the hotels, and connects to the Zion Canyon shuttle at the pedestrian entrance. Park once at your hotel and you may not need your car again until you leave. Shuttle & parking details →
