The honest answer to where to eat near Zion is Springdale. It sits at the park's south entrance, and its restaurant scene punches well above the size of the town. Most visitors eat every meal here because it is easy, walkable, and close to the trail.

But Zion trips often stretch further. If you are combining the park with a stay in Hurricane, La Verkin, or St. George, you will eat there too, and it helps to know how the distances work. Our Springdale directory puts Hurricane about 22 miles west and St. George about 40 miles west, which is why most people default to town for dinner after a day in the canyon.

Hurricane, La Verkin, and St. George all have their own restaurants. We have not vetted their dining for this guide, so treat any mention as a starting point, check current listings, and read reviews for the specific night you plan to go. We cover the drive itself in our St. George to Zion stops guide.

Plan for the return trip. If you eat in a farther town, remember you may be driving back after dark, and check what time the kitchens close rather than assuming.

When you are picking a base, our lodging guide weighs staying in Springdale against staying farther out, and the dining hub has the full list of in-town restaurants. You can also explore the Springdale place guide.
